For those that know someone getting married, there could be a point where you’re asked to make a speech. Now, the average person doesn’t know what to do, as many people are afraid of public speaking. Public speaking can be a difficult thing to manage, and if you’re not keen on it, you will need to consider a few notes that may help you. The following will help you plan a wedding speech outline so that you can speak with ease. Of course, it is going to take a little time to consider, but it can help you navigate the option of working with a wedding speech.
The Bullet Point Method
The first thing that you should do is get a piece of paper. Get a piece of paper and write out a few bullet points. Create 4 circles and that’s it. That’s your starting point. There should be at least 4 of them because you want to create a title, a body, and a conclusion. The introduction and the conclusion alone gives you 2 bullet points to speak about, so consider that up front. The next thing that you will need to consider is the interior 2 bullet points. However, this is an exercise in creating your speech outline, so don’t worry about filling them just yet. Worry about creating the bullet points first, and that will help you visualize the elements of a speech that you will need to create first of all.
The Traditional Academic Method
If you wanted to go with a traditional option, you can start with what academia does often. This is a solution that works with a title first. You create a title, and then you start putting down letters. For instance, you start with the title that you want to work with, and instead of bullet points, you start numbering the elements that you’re going to discuss. For instance, your tittle can have a capital letter “T”, and then underneath that, you will want to put number 1, 2, 3, and 4. Then you will need to have a letter for the ending, or conclusion. That’s it. That’s an academic style wedding speech outline.
Write Out Topics
Instead of going with these methods, you could very well just write out the topics that you want to cover. Take 4 lines on a piece of paper and just write out the titles of the sections that you’re going to work with. The first one is simple, the introduction, and the last one is even more simple, the conclusion. That’s going to allow you to have two section titles filled, and the rest is up to you. Do you want to tell a story? Do you want to quote a song? Do you want to speak about your own experiences? As long as you have the two main points that sandwich the start and ending of your speech, you’ll have a good starting line to work with, no doubt.
Outlining a speech should start with something simple, and then grow from that point forward, which isn’t that difficult to manage.
